Work in progress... June 2014 (currently untitled)

Just a sneak peak at my latest work inspired by autumnal Japanese water gardens. I am loving all the reds and golds!
Hoping to finish this piece before our new baby arrives on Thursday!! (No pressure!) so I will be very busy this week! :)

In The Wild - Commission

This is my most recent commission piece.  The brief was a painting that included a waterfall and tigers that looked as though they were coming out of the painting.  I don't normally take on animal pieces but I felt I was up to the challenge!  I love Japan so I loved having the opportunity to paint some of its beautiful scenery and foliage.

I have a real appreciation for how beautiful the while tigers are having completed this piece.  It is another piece I really enjoyed doing - so much so, I have another Japanese water garden painting on the way!

Feel free to email me for information on my commission work and as ever, I'd love to receive your feedback on this piece.

Viva Las Vegas!

I haven't been lucky enough to visit America yet, but when I do I would love to visit Vegas!  I love the lights, colors and over excited atmosphere.  I wanted to capture part of the skyline showing as much of the lights and attractions as I could.  I have put a lot of detail in hoping that this is another piece that will surprise you every time you look at it!
Ireally enjoyed painting this and I hope that shows in my work.  This was completed in May 2014.

Getting Started!

Welcome to my first blog post!

I am a modern/ contemporary painter from Wales.  I work in education full time so the painting is very much a hobby!

I love painting the sea and iconic skylines.  I usually work on smaller canvases as I like to retain a sense of simplicity.  When I do larger scale pieces I like to focus on details, so the more you look at it, the more you see!

I take commissions (contact me for details) as well as selling my artwork through an online gallery (www.artgallery.co.uk).

Please check out my work and let me know what you think!
